Beginner Ballet
These classes would suit Total beginners, students with little ballet experience or those who may have taken a long break since their last class. Class will start at the ballet barre and moves then to the centre of the room for the more choreographic part. The exercise sequences are kept relatively simple but not less challenging in order to see results in terms of muscle tone, posture, coordination, musicality and confidence. Mixed Level Ballet These classes are recommended to those students who have taken ballet classes for a minimum of 1 year and with no more than 6 months break. This level is based on the student's good knowledge of most of the basic ballet steps and movements and requires familiarity with their names and enough confidence during their execution. As this is a faster and more complex course compared to the beginners level, if unsure of which class to attend, we recommend starting with our beginner class and eventually moving up to this class later. Pointe shoes optional. |
Adult Ballet Ensemble
This is an inclusive amateur ballet company for adults of all ages who wish to learn repertoire or aim to also perform at the end of the year. Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays from 7.45-9.30pm at 'The Lir Academy' location on Pearse Street, D2. The Company welcomes dancers of all levels from the newcomer to the more experienced one, offering a great sense of community and allowing dancers to express themselves more creatively by bringing the weekly class work on stage. Performing is not compulsory although it is required to register an interest to take part to the ensemble. Fees: Students attending our regular classes will pay a €50 monthly fee (€12.50 per class) which includes repertoire work/rehearsals on Tuesdays from 7.45pm with the addition of Thursday evening in the weeks leading up to the show. External students only wanting to come to the repertoire/rehearsals class on Tuesdays at 7.45pm will pay €20 fee and are welcome to also perform at the end of the year.
